Everyone talks about sustainability communities but no efforts are being apply to traditional public housing. Sustainability means where people can live, work and place in their communities. The CHA has an unwritten rules that residents can not participate in the redevelopment of their communities. This create chaos because tenants are tired at looking at all the resources leave their communities. If CHA is truly about CHANGE, then change the way you don't allow residents to participate in the redevelopment of their communities. Be creative, use existing programs that would teach, trained and certify residents in housing management, construction and etc. Stop allowing general contractors to milk CHA with poor workmanship. Youthbuild, Workforce development training should be implmented in communities that are going through this transformation. This will uplift the individual and sustain their communities.
